Classic Show Jumping: The de Nemethy Method

Bertalan de Nemethy began his career as an officer in the Hungarian Cavalry and as a member of the Hungarian Olympic Show Jumping Team. He emigrated to the US in 1952 and was Chef d’Equipe for the United States Equestrian Team from 1955 t0 1980. During his 25-year tenure, he led the team to triumph in 6 Olympics as well as countless other prestigious international jumping events.

De Nemethy developed his training techniques of horse and rider based on classical principles and his extensive experience schooling and competing. The precision and elegance of the de Nemethy style is admired and emulated throughout the world today. The de Nemethy Method: Classic Show Jumping is an exposition of this gold-medal technique, illustrated with more than 100 photographs of riders and horses that Bertelan de Nemethy personally trained.
